Abstract Design Cutting Cake

This vanilla cutting cake was ordered for a birthday celebration.  The customer wanted an abstract artistic cake design, inspired by the print on her party invitations (shown under cake photo) but with no flower shapes.  The result was a smooth-iced finish with a series of cutout teardrops, spots, ferns and splash shapes in the colours of hot pink, bright orange and chocolate brown, and a piped shell top and bottom border.  The top of the cake was left blank for the addition of a topper by the customer.
